Located some 65 kilometers from the lake peninsula, this exquisite guest mansion beats its competition in terms of quiet location, luxury design, and attitude to customer service. ROOM FACILITIES This 34-room hotel includes eighteen duplexes, 2 suites, and 14 large rooms each with its balcony. Room furnishings include bedside tables and desks crafted from iron and local basalt. Walnut cupboards and walk-in closets are provided with wrought- iron hand-made clothes hangers. Beds feature wrought-iron headboards, Sealy Crown Jewel mattresses, and Frette sheets. The spacious bathrooms, made of green stone, feature shower stalls with glass enclosures.

GENERAL FACILITIES Avan Marak Tsapatagh offers guests a chance to participate in village life, while enjoying such facilities as a hot tub, swimming pool, and sauna. Hotel guests are offered a chance to participate in making crafts, or to rise at dawn to follow the life of a shepherd. The property includes its own beachfront where guests can rent windsurfing equipment or go on sailing trips. Guests can also choose guided hikes and horse riding excursions in the nearby hills. These slopes are currently being evaluated for their potential use by skiers.

RESTAURANT The 120-seat “Zanazan” restaurant with a bewitching view of the limpid, azure (or is it green? grey? silver?) waters of Lake Sevan. You can enjoy traditional Armenian cuisine, based on fresh local ingredients and regional recipes, in the medieval dining hall, or on the open terrace with its spectacular view over the lake. You even may wish to help prepare their own meals in the restaurant.
